The legal function located at Schiphol, supported by local legal counsels in various countries, oversees activities in all European jurisdictions. The Legal & Compliance team consists of proactive business minded lawyers who contribute to achieving the company goals and who play a crucial role in protecting the company’s interests while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Your job
You will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance and play a key role in managing a broad variety of legal matters throughout Europe, where required supported by local legal counsels. This also means coordinating legal projects and occasional traveling. With main focus on legal matters (e.g. contracting, litigation and advice) but also able to support on compliance topics (e.g. GDPR, fair labeling advertising, internal policies), you will support a broad variety of stakeholders, including various business stakeholders such as Sales, Business Development, Product Management, Marketing, and the Board.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Manage and support legal matters, including the creation and maintenance of templates, contract reviews, negotiations, and termination of legal relationships
- Country coordination of the markets the company operates in
- Provide legal advice and handle litigation, ensuring the company’s interests are protected and risks are minimized
- Monitor relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Support the compliance team with GDPR, fair labelling, advertising, competition law, and other related areas
- Provide updates to key stakeholders on legal developments and compliance matters
- Contribute to building a strong Legal & Compliance department and help the company achieve its goals

Your profile
- Master’s degree in law; a Dutch qualification is not required, but is an advantage
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- 7+ years of legal experience, ideally within both a reputable law firm and in-house
- Excellent and relevant legal knowledge and strong drafting and negotiation skills
- Team lead potential, with the ability to support and guide others
- Flexible, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic setting
- Efficient and accurate
- Project management and presentations skills
- Strong business and service mindset
- Affinity with compliance matters is an advantage (GDPR, competition law, etc.)
