Compliance Officer – AlpInvest Partners (Amsterdam I 32-40 hours)

Your job
The Amsterdam Compliance team is primarily responsible for the regulatory position of the EU licensed entities. AlpInvest has an AIFMD and a MIFID License and is a manager of alternative investment funds established in Luxembourg and the Netherlands, as well as separate accounts of large institutional clients. The majority of these managed funds are closed end and it recently also started managing its first semi-liquid funds.
As Compliance Officer you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing AlpInvest’s regulatory compliance program. You’ll focus on a wide range of European regulations (including AIFMD, MiFID and WWFT), support AML/KYC processes, and contribute to global compliance initiatives coordinated with colleagues across different jurisdictions.
You will report to the Conducting Officer for Compliance Amsterdam and will work closely with other teams such as Legal, Tax, Treasury and Risk Management. You will also need to interact with the service providers of AlpInvest, e.g. depositary, banks, third party GPs.
Your work will span ongoing compliance operations, regulatory filings, policy development, audits, and training initiatives — all critical to AlpInvest’s regulatory integrity and risk management strategy.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Conducting AML/KYC due diligence for new and existing investors, investments, and counterparties
- Conducting operational due diligence on service providers, distributors and other eligible parties
- Supporting day-to-day compliance operations: maintaining restricted trading lists, reviewing personal trading transactions, monitoring expert network interactions, and maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to regulatory reporting (e.g. to AFM, CSSF) and internal compliance reviews and testing
- Assisting with updates to compliance manuals and staff training initiatives
- Supporting global compliance projects and initiating and implementing local projects (e.g. maintain the UBO registry up to date, develop with other departments new templates)
- Coordinating responses to audits and regulatory examinations
- Conducting ad hoc research and responding to third-party due diligence request

Your profile
You are a professional with a strong sense of responsibility, intellectual curiosity, and excellent organizational skills. You bring a thoughtful and thorough approach to compliance, paired with the flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, international setting.
You bring:
- A completed WO/HBO degree
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both verbal and written
- Experience with compliance, legal or regulatory work — for example, at an asset manager, law, accounting or consulting firm, or supervisory authority
- Familiarity with AML/KYC processes and European financial regulations such as AIFMD, Wft, and WWFT
- A proactive mindset, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with digital compliance tools is a plus.
